Ethanol and methanol are two of the most flexible chemical commodities and energy sources available today. As part of the activities of the IDEAL project, we have developed two multipurpose reduced combustion mechanisms for ethanol and methanol that reduced the computational time by a factor of 12 when compared with the fastest detailed combustion mechanism in the literature. And that with less than a 10% error when the numerical results are compared with experiments. The peer-review publications supporting these data are next:
